Home care aides keep working amid massive health risks

During the first three months of the coronavirus pandemic, the labor force lost 232,000 home health care workers, most of whom resigned, according to data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Those who quit were on average younger, healthier and more financially secure. The remaining 3.2 million workers are more likely to have disabilities themselves, be older than 55 and be a member of a racial or ethnic minority.
