ACCESS: Adapting Curriculum and Classroom Environments for Student Success
The Adapting Curriculum and Classroom Environments for Student Success (ACCESS) is a collaborative project with the Delaware Department of Education, the University of Delaware Center for Disabilities Studies, and Delaware Public Schools.
ACCESS is designed to provide educators, families and community members the necessary tools to improve educational outcomes for students with significant intellectual disabilities.
Through professional development and technical assistance, educators are provided with lesson planning resources, adapted curriculum materials and model units based on the Delaware Content Standards.
The ACCESS project also addresses how to balance standards-based instruction with the many other outcome areas that are vital for student success such as daily living, real life application and vocational training.
