Deborah Boyer
Bio:
Boyer, an associate director of CDS and director of its School-Age Services Unit, oversees the Delaware Multi-tiered System of Support Technical Assistance Center (DE-MTSS TA Center). Established by the Delaware Department of Education (DDOE) in partnership with CDS in the fall of 2023, the DE-MTSS TA merged the historical Adapting Curriculum & Classroom Environments for Student Success (ACCESS) and Delaware Positive Behavior Support (DE-PBS) initiatives to provide professional development and technical assistance to Delaware educators to support the academic and nonacademic development of all children through an integrated multi-tiered system of support.
She has developed and overseen professional learning on a range of education topics including Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), Behavior Intervention Planning, Inclusive practices, Universal Design for Learning, IEP development and Integration of mental health supports within MTSS. She is also the co-director of the Special Education Administrative Leadership (SEAL) Program, the first program in Delaware designed to lead to certification as a special education administrator. Prior to coming to CDS, she worked as a consultant for the Boston Center for Psychiatric Rehabilitation where she assisted organizations throughout the United States to develop meaningful rehabilitation and recovery systems for individuals with psychiatric disabilities.
In her spare time, Debby enjoys figure skating and hiking in the woods with her dog. She lives in Newark, Del.
