Beyond drugs, it’s not clear which ADHD treatments work

A review of studies published by the American Academy of Pediatrics suggests a lack of evidence supporting the effectiveness of medication alternatives to ADHD, including cognitive behavioral therapy, parent training and diets. It usually is recommended that doctors prescribe stimulants, behavior therapy or both, with stimulants as the first treatment method used.
