The Career & Life Studies Certificate (CLSC – or “classic”) program is a 2-year certificate program at UD for students with intellectual disabilities. CLSC students participate in all aspects of college life – they take coursework, participate in internships, use campus resources, and get engaged with campus life, including living in the residence halls. Internships with CLSC offer an opportunity to learn about inclusive higher education, conduct coaching and workshops, and facilitate campus connections with CLSC students. Internships can range from 50-400 hours and can occur over 1 or 2 semesters.
Intern responsibilities vary according to intern interests and program needs. Each internship offers an engaging, hands-on opportunity to work directly with students and offer opportunities to learn about program development, higher education, and postsecondary transition for students with disabilities. In the past, we have had undergraduate and graduate student interns from programs such as Human Development & Family Sciences, Education, Psychology, and Higher Education Counseling/Services. We welcome students who bring creativity, dedication and a willingness to learn!
